The #1 Jesus Basketball League
The #1 Jesus basketball league is open to children between the ages of 5 and 18. Our season runs from January thru March.
We have five different age divisions: Tiny Tots 5-6, Small Fry 7-9, Mites 10-12, Midgets 13-14, Juniors 15-18. Basketball games are played on Fridays and Saturdays at five different sites. The mission of the #1 Jesus League is to utilize basketball to draw young people into an environment in which the gospel of Jesus Christ can be
introduced. Our goal is to evangelize the lost, and disciple and fellowship the saved. We aim to take the team sport of basketball to teach young people the gospel concept of unity of the body in which Paul relates to in 1 Corinthians 12. The #1 Jesus League has partnered with the City of Sumter and local area churches and is
supported by a number of local businesses.
The M.H. Newton Family Life Center is also offering Aerobics Classes. Aerobic exercise helps push the heart and circulatory system further than the easy pace of many every day activities. This stress forces the body to adapt causing many changes which benefit us in a lot of ways. The health benefits we gain from aerobic exercise are important, not only does this type of exercise help control weight, it also limits the chances of developing many common illness and diseases. Classes are held on Monday evenings from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, For more information, contact the Family Life Center.
